CrossFit and Camaraderie
Camaraderie can be found in many frequent social settings. Traditionally and also uniquely, however, this is not true at a regular gym. Seasoned CrossFitters refer to regular health clubs as “Globo-Gyms”, or “Big Boxes.” Images of throngs of people generally not speaking to eachother and avoiding eye contact come to mind. Headphones and baseball caps pulled low complete the visualization of the Globo-Gym populus, and the ponderer is reminded of the sheer feeling of limited variation, negative independence, and in some cases helplessness in a time of need.
Here at Reactive Gym/CrossFit Pleasanton, we aim to achieve the polar opposite of the Globo-Gym environment. Your fellow members and trainers are here everyday to motivate and propel you towards your goals. CrossFit is very social in its nature, and as members you should take full liberties in your time spent with us. CrossFit is an experience. Every WOD should should be a great one in one way or another. And most importantly, savor the feeling of camaraderie. The person to your left or right is along for the same journey that you are, and chances are they feel the same way.
