Today CFP will be hosting a charity event for a young man named Blake McKee from 9 to 11. Blake is the brother of Brad McKee, the founder of The Disposable Heroes Project.

For those of you who are unaware of The Disposable Heroes Project, it is an organization that raises funds and awareness to assist wounded veterans and the families of our fallen soldiers. Along with many of us, the DHP believe that our veterans and fallen soldiers should be honored and commemorated as the heroes that they are. The DHP go above and beyond to ensure our men and women that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

The DHP memorialize our heroes by traveling to different Crossfit boxes and hosting wods that are in honor of our troops. In that process, they raise funds that assist our troops and their families in a variety of ways.

On November 3rd, Brad’s brother, Blake was tragically the victim of a hit and run. He underwent emergency brain surgery to remove half of his skull in order to allow his brain to swell. As of now, he is in critical care and his long term prognosis is unknown. Blake faces a very long road toward recovery that will bear a very heavy financial burden for his family.

It is our turn to give back and return the generosity and service that Brad McKee and his DHP team spread.
